In the fall of 2023, Books in Homes USA was awarded a grant from the US Department of Education to support the launch of a new program, Building a Culture of Literacy. In this new program, Books in Homes is partnering with 14 schools across the country to distribute books to their students, provide professional development opportunities for site literacy coordinators, and create online resources for schools and parents nationwide that promote home-based literacy activities that align with classroom learning.
